You do not need a Rewire 2019 ticket to attend the sound walk, but registration is required.
Central Imaginary District will be available during the whole festival, and thereafter will be downloadable online.

Justin Bennett is an artist whose work with sound combines spatial recordings of environmental sound with the resonances of buildings and materials. For Rewire 2019, he has created, ‘Central Imaginary District’, a specially commissioned sound walk experience that responds to The Hague’s metropolitan area development project, ‘Central Innovation District’. ‘Central Imaginary District’ features field recordings of the area, mixed with archival material and electronic (musical) sounds to create a soundtrack that reacts to the various locations along the walk. These sounds are interlaced with interviews with residents and students based in the development area that share fragments of their dreams and fears for the future of their city. As a preface to this guided sound walk, artist Justin Bennett will give a brief introduction to the project, explaining the themes and processes involved in its creation.
Justin Bennett will lead a sound walk on Saturday and Sunday. The sound walk takes approximately 45 – 60 min and starts from De Overkant.
Rewire is an annual international festival for adventurous music. The festival offers a world class programme featuring more than 100 concerts, multidisciplinary performances, screenings, talks and workshops. Rewire 2019 takes place from 29 to 31 March at various venues across the city centre of The Hague (The Netherlands). Venues include churches, old factories and abandoned spaces to the more institutional theatres and pop venues.
